Abstract. The article examines a typology of generative images based on differences in the nature of human interaction with algorithmic systems. The proactive model is analyzed as a distinct artistic practice in which the unpredictability of generation becomes a source of experimentation, expanding the scope for visual exploration and critical reconsideration of contemporary culture. The reactive model is viewed as a mass form of image creation oriented primarily toward self-presentation, consumption, reproduction of in demand visual patterns, as well as standardization of aesthetic norms. An analysis of these practices reveals changes in perceptions of artistic expressiveness, visual quality, and the representation of the human figure. The distinction between the two models is determined not so much by the level of automation as by the nature of the creative process, the cultural function of the resulting image, and the extent of human responsibility for its content.
