Abstract. The article examines algorithmic visibility as an independent socio-philosophical category that allows for describing changes in digital publicity not through the overly general concept of the “power of algorithms”, but through a more precise question, i.e. how platforms distribute the very opportunity of being noticed. In the platform environment, publicity no longer coincides with the technical fact of publication: a message can be posted, saved, and can be formally accessible, yet it fails to become socially perceived as it does not pass through the infrastructure of ranking, recommendations, metrics, moderation, and user attention pathways. From this perspective, visibility is considered not as an external sign of popularity or as a simple consequence of pre-existing interest of the audience, but as a condition of social presence; a statement acquires public force only when it is presented to others, included in the field of interpretation, and capable of eliciting further response. This means that the theoretical framework of the article combines the classical understanding of the public sphere, criticism of its unequal structure, and modern research on digital publicity, media platformization, algorithmic relevance, and the threat of invisibility. Therefore, the freedom of publication remains a necessary but no longer sufficient condition for public participation since in the platform society, the crucial factor is no longer just the right to speak, but the infrastructural likelihood of being heard. This means the ability to navigate the display logic, stay within the attention field, and become relevant to other participants in communication.
