Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the awareness and readiness of rural residents and agricultural complex workers in Russia to use products and solutions created with artificial intelligence (AI). The work is based on a secondary analysis of data from the nationwide survey conducted by the VCIOM Analytical Center (N = 1604, weighted sample). It is shown that at the nearly level of the general awareness of AI application in agriculture, the readiness of its usage is sharply differentiated by age: it is declining more than twofold from Generation Z to boomers generation. The research defines with the logistic regression that besides age, it is considered that education, income, type of settlement and gender are significant predictors of readiness, while frequency of internet use loses its meaning once other factors are controlled for. Multiple correspondence analysis revealed that these characteristics form a coherent gradient of digital and innovative inclusion. Factor analysis of eighteen statements about the benefits and risks of AI identified three orthogonal dimensions of perception – techno-optimism, ethico-naturalistic risk, and techno-systemic risk, of which only the first two effectively predict readiness to adopt the technology. Drawing on the latent profile analysis, four stable attitude types – from techno-enthusiasts to ethical sceptics differing not only in the degree of perception factors but also in socio-demographic composition – are highlighted. These findings are interpreted in light of diffusion-of-innovations theory and technology-acceptance models.
