Abstract. The article examines the Chinese piano school as an independent cultural and performance system formed through the interaction among national, Western European, and Russian musical and pedagogical traditions. The study aims to identify the mechanisms of incorporating the borrowed models into national practice and how they became a resource for China’s participation in the global musical space. The work methodology combines historical-cultural, comparative-typological, and institutional approaches, cultural transfer theory, and elements of performance analysis. The Chinese school specifity is defined by no isolation from external influences but their selective internalisation and national decoding. The following levels are distinguished: institutional, performance-pedagogical, and national-semantic. The article concludes that Chinese pianism is moving from a predominantly receptive model toward a more independent position associated with the development of national repertoire, pedagogical lineages, and international cultural communication.
