Аннотация. Статья посвящена участию социалистов Японии в антивоенном движении начала ХХ в., а также деятельности их основного органа печати в рассматриваемый период – газеты «Хэймин симбун». Хронологическими рамками настоящего исследования является период с 1899 по 1905 гг. Основное внимание автора уделено развитию представлений ранних японских социалистов о войне, патриотизме, милитаризме и империализме. Показан постепенный отход ведущих участников социалистического движения Японии от представлений о цивилизаторской роли станы к признанию несправедливости ее экспансии в Азии. Рассматривается роль газеты «Хэймин симбун» как организационного ядра японского антивоенного движения. Отмечено, что несмотря на двойственное представление о суверенности Кореи и корейского народа, социалисты Японии не только встали во главе движения против войны с Россией, но и установили контакты с международным социал-демократическим движением. Статья основана на принципах историзма и объективности, а также на историко-генетическом, историко-системном и историко-типологическом методах.

The Activity of the Heimin Shimbun Newspaper
and the Participation of Early Japanese Socialists
in the Anti-War Movement of the Late 19^th and Early 20^th Centuries

Abstract. The article is devoted to the participation of Japanese socialists in the anti-war movement at the beginning of the twentieth century as well as the work of the leading socialist newspaper in this period, the Heimin Shimbun. The chronological framework of this study is the period from 1899 to 1905. The author focuses on the development of early Japanese socialists’ ideas about war, patriotism, militarism, and imperialism. It shows the gradual departure of the premier participants in the Japanese socialist movement from the thinking of the country’s civilizing role to the recognition of the injustice of its expansion in Asia. The article also examines the role of the Heimin Shimbun newspaper as an organizational core of the Japanese anti-war movement. It is noted that despite the ambivalent view of Korea’s and the Korean people’s sovereignty, the Socialists of Japan not only led the movement against the war with Russia, but also established contacts with the international social democratic movement. The article is based on the principles of historicism and objectivity as well as on historical-genetic, historical-systemic, and historical-typological methods.
