Аннотация. В статье исследуется репрезентация празднования трехсотлетия Терского казачьего войска лейб-гвардии Терским казачьим эскадроном Собственного Его Императорского Величества конвоя на страницах дореволюционной периодической печати. В рамках работы используются историко-культурный и сравнительный методы, а также контент-анализ, позволяющие проследить особенности освещения юбилейных мероприятий в Гатчине в 1881 г. в ведущих столичных («Правительственный вестник», «Русский инвалид», «Новое время», «Петербургская газета», «Санкт-Петербургские ведомости») и региональных («Кавказ», «Терские ведомости») изданиях. На основе анализа газетных публикаций реконструируется ход юбилейных торжеств и выявляются различия в акцентах, которые делались в столичной и провинциальной прессе. Показано, как юбилейные события использовались для формирования образа лояльного власти терского казачества и демонстрации особого внимания императора к региону. Статья способствует более глубокому пониманию роли прессы в конструировании исторической памяти и имперской идеологии.

Representation of the Celebration of the 300^th Anniversary of the Terek Cossack Host
by the Life Guards Terek Cossack Squadron
on the Pages of the Pre-Revolutionary Periodical Press

Abstract. The article examines the representation of the celebration of the three-hundredth anniversary of the Terek Cossack Host by the Life Guards Terek Cossack Squadron of His Imperial Majesty’s Own Convoy on the pages of the pre-revolutionary periodical press. The work uses historical-cultural and comparative methods as well as content analysis, which make it possible to trace the features of coverage of the anniversary events in Gatchina in 1881 in the leading metropolitan (Government Herald, Russian Invalid, Novoye Vremya, Petersburg Newspaper, Sankt-Peterburgskie Vedomosti) and regional (Kavkaz, Terskie Vedomosti) publications. The course of the anniversary celebrations reconstructs on the base of the analysis of newspaper publications revealing the differences in the emphasis between the capital and provincial press. It is demonstrated how the anniversary events were used to shape the image of the Terek Cossacks as loyal to the government and to demonstrate the emperor’s special attention to the region. This article contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of the press in constructing the historical memory and imperial ideology.
